REGENERATED NYLON

WHAT IS ECONYL?

ECONYL, created by Italian firm Aquafil uses nylon waste such as industrial plastic, waste fabric, and fishing nets from oceans, then recycles and regenerates them into a new ECONYL® nylon yarn that is exactly the same quality as virgin nylon.

This regeneration system focuses on 4 steps that form a closed loop which uses less water and creates less waste than traditional nylon production methods. Waste is collected, then cleaned and shredded, depolymerised to extract nylon, polymerised, transformed into yarn, and then re-commercialised into textile products.

That means you can create new products and buy new products without having to use new resources.

We believe circular design is the future and using ECONYL® is our first step on that journey.WHAT ARE THE SOURCES OF WASTE USED FOR PRODUCING ECONYL REGENERATED NYLON?

PROCESS BEHIND THE BREAKTHROUGH MATERIAL.

RESCUE, ECONYL® regeneration system starts with rescuing waste, like fishing nets, fabric scraps, carpet flooring and industrial plastic all over the world. That waste is then sorted and cleaned to recover all of the nylon possible.

REGENERATE, Through a radical regeneration and purification process, the nylon waste is recycled right back to its original purity. That means ECONYL® regenerated nylon is exactly the same as virgin nylon.

REMAKE, ECONYL® regenerated nylon is processed into yarns and polymers for the fashion and interior industries.

REIMAGINE, The beauty of ECONYL® regenerated nylon is that it has the potential to be recycled infinitely, without ever losing its quality.

WHAT ARE THE SOURCES OF WASTE USED FOR PRODUCING ECONYL® REGENERATED NYLON?

Old carpet destined for landfills, fishing nets from aquaculture and fish industry and ghost nets, fabric scraps from mills and plastic components.

As well as special take back projects, an international network structured around recovering materials at end of use, based on partnerships with institutions, organisations, private and public associations and companies. And pre-consumer waste from industrial processes such as plastic components, industrial waste and fabric scraps.

COMPOSTABLE MAILERS

What are Compostable Mailers? - Our compostable mailers, fondly known as HEROPACKs (shipping bags), are used to ship your products to customers. Unlike traditional shipping mailers, these are NOT made from plastic.

How do you use a composter mailer? - Just drop the bag in your compost bin or heap if you have one in your backyard alongside your other bio-waste. It will take about 180 days to break down into the soil. 100% BIODEGRADABLE SHIPPING BAGS.
